Alison Hester

Alison is currently providing therapy via Telehealth at this time. Receiving her Masters of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northwestern University’s Family Institute in Chicago IL in 2014, Alison has extensive clinical knowledge and hands-on experience providing individual, couples, and family therapy. 

Alison has 8 years experience working in the community providing guidance, support and resources to help clients remove constraints, improve relationships, and engage their surroundings with more intent and confidence.

Alison specializes in family, couples and individual therapy built upon an integrative, systemically oriented perspective. She strives to maintain the creative and dynamic process of therapy, utilizing theory and interventions from multiple models of therapy; Alison works primarily with cognitive-behavioral, structural, and narrative models of therapy with influences from neurobiology, attachment, and self-psychology.

Areas of experience include: anxiety, depression, trauma/PTSD, anger, coping skills, couples work, self-esteem, life-stage transitions/life coaching, parenting and child behavior, peer relationships, communication, relationship issues, and child/adolescent within the context of family.

Alison is committed to creating a therapeutic environment built upon collaboration, skill-building, action-oriented interventions, and honest, supportive feedback.
